Decatur/Morgan Co. Alumni in Memory of Thomas, Alline and JoAnn Harrison Endowed Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by the Decatur/Morgan County UNA Alumni Club to honor the memory of Thomas, Alline, and Joann Harrison. Ms. Joann Harrison was a graduate of Florence State University now known as the University of North Alabama with a degree in Spanish. While at UNA, she received the Keller Key for Scholarship and the Turris Fidelis for Leadership. She was also awarded a Master of Arts Degree in Spanish and English and Ed.S. Education Specialist degree in English and Spanish from Peabody College. Ms. Harrison taught Latin and Spanish for one year at Cullman High School, Spanish and English for nine years at Decatur High School and was a Professor of English and Literature for 20 years at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
The scholarship will be awarded to students who are incoming freshmen who have declared a major in the College of Education and Human Sciences, are graduates of a Morgan County High School, and demonstrate financial need based on the current and future need-based guidelines of the university.
