Presidential Mentors Academy (PMA) Program and Scholarship-Incoming Freshmen ONLY
The UNA Presidential Mentors Academy (PMA) was established in 1997 with the University President’s Office to develop a scholarship, mentoring, and leadership development program for underrepresented minority high school graduates. UNA supports diversity and inclusion through an annual scholarship and leadership development program that will facilitate the transition of selected underrepresented students from high school to college.The mission of PMA is to select and mentor students who demonstrate leadership potential, academic excellence, and dedication to community service. Once admitted to the academy, PMA scholarship recipients will receive financial assistance, leadership development training, peer mentoring, and academic advising.
To be considered for the Presidential Mentors Academy (PMA), applicants must be admitted to the University and meet the following requirements:
- Incoming freshman student
- Minimum ACT score of 18 (currently waived)
- Minimum unweighted high school GPA of a 3.0
- Complete and submit an activity resume that demonstrates strong academics and community leadership and involvement
