Lolita Barnes Endowed Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by the family of the late Lolita Barnes to honor and express their love for their mother and grandmother for her lifetime of devotion and love to them. She was a women of great faith, strength and dignity, whose wisdom was always spoken, and who exemplified the mother seen in Proverbs 31.
Ms. Barnes married Stratton Barnes at a young age and their marriage continued for fifty-eight years until her passing. She was blessed with a son and a daughter, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The wife of a self-employed husband, she proved her wisdom by her hard work and endless support. She always knew what needed to be done and with great energy completed the task. This many times included getting up before dawn and not resting until late in the night.
Education was very important to her. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of hard work, responsibility, and integrity.
