Pauline Gravlee Endowed Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by friends of the late Pauline E. Gravlee. Ms. Gravlee was a gradute of Samford University and the Vanderbilt University School of Education. She came to Florence in 1954 as Dean of Women and retired as Dean of Student Life and Associate Professor of Sociology in 1987. Among her civic and professional interests was the American Association of University Women, of which she served twice as Shoals Branch President and Alabama State President.
Recipients of this scholarship shall have demonstrated outstanding promise for enhancing the vitality of campus life through significant and diversified activities that include, but are not restricted to, leadership and service to the University of North Alabama. To be eligible, applicants shall have completed a minimum of 48 credit hours at the University of North Alabama prior to the beginning of the academic year for which the scholarship will be awarded and must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.80. If, in the process of selection one or more qualified women are selected as finalists, preference will be given to those applicants.
