Mary Alice Young Endowed Scholarship

First preference shall be given to full-time students who are graduates of Central High School in Florence, Alabama, who have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program, have a minimum cumulative UNA GPA of 3.0, and are majoring in elementary education or early childhood education. Second preference shall be given to full-time students who are graduates of Central High School in Florence, Alabama, who have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program, have a minimum cumulative UNA GPA of 3.0 and are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the College of Education and Human Sciences. Third preference shall be given to tenured faculty members at Central High School in Florence, Alabama who have been admitted to UNA to pursue advanced degrees in the College of Education and Human Sciences. The scholarship is not renewable. However, students may reapply each year that they meet the above mentioned criteria. The recipient recommendations will be selected by the College of Education and Human Sciences Scholarship Committee in consultation with the Office of Student Financial Aid. The awards will be made in scholarship amounts based on funds available and number of students selected. Awards for this scholarship must be made or committed on or before the beginning of the fall semester of any academic year.
