Lucas Terry Memorial Endowed Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established by Jane P. Terry to honor her son Lucas Shane “Boo” Terry. The youngest of eight siblings, Lucas died tragically by drowning on February 14, 2003, just six days prior to his sixth birthday. Although developmentally delayed, Lucas was a happy child who enjoyed life and loved his family. His favorite characters included “junior” from the book Flap Your Wings and Littlefoot the dinosaur and Mo the prank-playing dolphin from the animated movie “The Land Before Time: Journey to Big Water,” all of which are touchingly depicted on his headstone.
The Lucas Terry Memorial Endowed Scholarship will provide deserving children from foster homes and single-parent families the opportunity to complete the education that Lucas never had a chance to enjoy.
