Ellie Richardson Mitchell Endowed Music Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established to honor the memory of Ellie Richardson Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Athens, Alabama, in 1920. She was particularly concerned with youth and tutored dyslexic children, belonged to the Maude Lindsey Free Kindergarten Club and taught preschool Sunday School. She is a former member of the Muscle Shoals District Service League, UNA President’s Cabinet, Florence Study Club, National Society of the Colonial Dames in America and numerous other social and charitable organizations.
Recipients of this scholarship must be full time students majoring in music.
